While slicing a BB in half was incredibly impressive, I just can't help but feel that even an average swordsman would be able to slice a baseball flying at them. I seam to remember in my book about iaijutsu that a common training technique was throwing fruit at a swordsman.
For those not Familiar with Iaido or Iaijutsu, it is the art of drawing a sword and killing your opponent in a single strike. One of the few things that is actually unique to Japanese sword play. Europeans just used knives or guns for such close quarters self defense. As far as I could tell the fastest way to draw a European sword was to raise it strait out of its sheath into a position (forgot the name) with the blade about level with your eyes and the tip pointed at your opponent's face. I threatening position to say the least.
